Perry Targets "Pro-Abortion Radicals" in CPAC Speech
Gov. Rick Perry targeted what he called “left-wing, pro-abortion radicals” in a speech before the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, blaming the Obama administration for the state’s stand-off over the Medicaid Women’s Health Program.
“President Obama has invalidated a waiver that provides health care for more than 100,000 women in my state,” he said, simply because Texas doesn’t want to “subsidize abortion.”
The Women’s Health Program is a joint state-federal program that provides well-woman exams, contraception and STD screenings — not abortions — for thousands of poor women in Texas. The majority of them have traditionally ...

Sure wish he'd just shut up and quit embarrassing us. Stupid mfer. Nobody is PRO abortion. Nobody wakes up in the morning thinking they'd like to run out and get one. However, each woman has the right to make her own CHOICE regarding this heartbreaking decision. Sometimes abortion is a necessity. Women need to have access to safe abortions when they have come to that decision.

Can someone please remind him that he is not running for President anymore!!

There wouldn't be any question about some of the issues if they involved men and their health care for issues involving me. Imagine if they cut out prostate exams or if men had to bear the children!! Things would be a lot different. I'm certainly not pro-abortion, but women should be able to make their own decisions. It's between them and their God.

Since when us pro-choice...pro-abortion. I cannot believe how the term switched up. Leave it to Southerners to twist and turn words to get a reaction out of someone...

Nobody is pro-abortion. But thoughtful, logical people are pro-helping women live and keeping healthcare available.

Rick at his tyrannical under minding of Women's Rights. Is he and his follower's saying that we are too stupid to know what is best for ourselves? But then again, he is all for funding un-approved medical procedures that will line his pockets. Hypocrisy - YOU BET!

Wonder if Wendy Davis would be willing to sponsor a bill requiring prostate exams before a physician can write a prescription for Viagra.

Laura Bush came out as pro-choice and pro-gay marriage when her husband was no longer President.
I wonder if the former nurse in the left-hand corner of that photograph doesn't have a different view on this issue, in her heart of hearts.

Jeez, just what I've ALWAYS wanted to be branded as a left-wing, pro-abortion radical! Glad to know I've finally achieved my goal. Being demonized by Gov. Perry is akin to making Nixon's enemies list. Makes me proud!

THIS IS SCIENCE:
FETUS IS NOT A BABY (GOOGLE THE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT CHART), but a parasite because the classification of the biological relationship that is based on the behavior one organism (fetus) and how it relates to the woman's body:
as a zygote, it invaded the woman's uterus using its TROPHOBLAST cells, hijacked her immune system by using NEUROKININ B and HCG--- so her body doesn't kill it, steals her nutrients to survive, and causes her harm or potential death.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trophoblast
"The placenta functions as an immunological barrier between the mother and the fetus, creating an immunologically privileged site. For this purpose, it uses several mechanisms:
It secretes Neurokinin B containing phosphocholine molecules. This is the same mechanism used by parasitic nematodes to avoid detection by the immune system of their host.[2]"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immune_tolerance_in_pregnancy
" Due to its highly-negative charge, hCG may repel the immune cells of the mother, protecting the fetus during the first trimester. It has also been hypothesized that hCG may be a placental link for the development of local maternal immunotolerance."

"It is also possible for a symbiotic relationship to exist between two organisms of the same species."

just like a parasitic twin --- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasitic_twin
"an animal or plant that lives in or on another (the host) from which it obtains nourishment. The host does not benefit from the association and is often harmed by it"

THE FETUS DOESN'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO FEEL PAIN --WHEN MOST ABORTIONS OCCUR.

THIS IS THE LAW:
ABORTION IS A CIVIL AND CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT SUPPORTED BY THE RIGHTS TO PRIVACY, THE EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE OF THE 14TH AMENDMENT, AND THE 13TH AMENDMENT.
NO HUMAN ( that means the FETUS, too) has a right to life or any due process rights by the 14th amendment to use another human's body or body parts AGAINST their will, civil and constitutional rights: that's why you are not forced to donate your kidney---the human fetus is no exception; this is supported by the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment AND 13th amendment, which makes reproductive slavery unconstitutional.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal_Protection_Clause
"Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
this makes viability unconstitutional because pregnancy is not a crime.
consensual sex=/= a legal, binding contract to an unwanted fetus to live; and abortion is not murder, the unlawful killing with intent.

Perry wants to make sure every pregnancy ends in a birth but he doesn't want to spend any money on prenatal care or assuring that a child can grow up in safe surroundings with a chance for education. How quick can we put this idiot and his GOP supporters out to pasture?

Please, please, Rick Perry, just go away! I wonder if it would be legal to create a super PAC to pay a politician to resign and never be heard from again.

For the record, we are not "Pro-abortion". I and many others are decidedly Pro-Choice. Additionally, we do not see the opposition as being "Pro-life" but "anti-choice". Admittedly, it is our perspective.
Again, Perry blames this President for his politics of division and lies of rhetoric. It was not Obama who introduced anti-choice legislation in the Texas Legislature. It was not POTUS who stood on the US Senate floor and lied about the amount of abortions performed by PP. While it might be effective politics to blame POTUS for the governor's politics of division and war on reproductive rights in an attempt to overcome the self inflicted wounds of his failed presidential campaign, it will do you no good. No matter how divisive his rhetoric becomes, no matter how hateful and irresponsible your attacks, the people of the state of Texas watched in embarrassment as he demonstrated what a failure this governor has become. So, no matter how much he tried to deflect attention from his shortcomings, the people of Texas clearly recognize just how incompetent this governor has become. We need a governor that will unite us, not divide us.

@Jasmine: The reason "pro-choice" equals "pro-abortion" is that back in the 80's when the pro-abortion camp was obviously losing public support, they pulled a marketing ploy out of the hat and changed the name. For the "pro-choice" advocates, the choice IS abortion.
@Debbie: I have debated with issue with people who ARE decidedly <<PRO>> abortion. They wake up in the morning thinking about how they can convince more womenn to run out and get one. They eat, drink, and sleep abortion. For them, if it is a "heartbreaking decision" for a women, then that is a sign that the woman has been mentally/emotionally abused by the right wing kooks.
@Asheera has probably one of the most radically (and rabbidly) pro-abortion posts I have seen in a very long time. I'm waiting for the "reasonable people" (you know, the ones who pretend to be while they slam the "other side" for making radical comments) to stomp on these as well. I doubt they will come because rabid radicalism in the name of the politically correct cause is acceptable.
I'm not sure I agree with what Perry has said. Actually, he does not really espouse the political feelings I have very often. He does touch on some things I agree with from time to time, but other than that, he is not representative of my feelings much of the time.
That said, there ARE things that reasonable people can say on this topic, but do not because the radicals (on both sides) will attack them. Hence I rarely say how I truly feel about this. i just work to point out the problems that both sides have in the hopes that some of the more honest will sense that there is something in the middle that needs to be given honest consideration.

@Dale: Well over a decade ago, I wrote an article showing how the pro-abortion camp stole the term pro-choice from the anti-abortion camp.
You see, it is kind of like this. Every choice has consequences. This is a law of nature that we cannot overcome. If you say you are pro-choice, then you also must be pro-consequences. If you are pro-choice and anti-consequences, then you are NOT truly pro-choice. You can't be. It is impossible. In order to make that argument, some kind of logical falacy must be put into place. Period.
The consequence of unprotected and haphazard breeding habits is the real potential of pregnancy. That's why we have so many stray dogs and cats running around.
But we are NOT dogs and cats, we are HUMANS. It doesn't matter if you believe in divine creation or random selection, the fact remains that we, today, are universally recognized as sentient beings. We have the right to choose our actions. But what we cannot overcome is the demands of nature that we also accept the consequences of those actions.
The pro-abortion camp is all about trying to be pro-choice AND anti-consequences. What they are saying (to keep my analogy going) is that they want to engage in breeding habits similar to dogs and cats, but then be relieved of the consequences of those actions.
As humans, we are told to spay and neuter our pets to make sure their animal instincts do not continue to produce more unwanted dogs and cats. The pro-abortionists basically say it is okay to act like dogs and cats, indiscriminately breeding, and if we get pregnant, then we'll just suck that little "parasite" out through a tube.
You see, women HAVE a choice. The pro-life/anti-abortion side honors her choice -- moreso than the anti-abortion side ever has or can. The pro-life/anti-abortion side actually DEMANDS that she have that choice! This is why the pro-life/anti-abortion crowd are actually the pro-choice side as well.
I am in that camp. I am truly, absolutely, 100% Pro-Choice. I demand that every woman have the right of choice. She can choose to get pregnant or not. (Actually, she can only choose to NOT get pregnant -- many women who WANT to get pregnant find they cannot.)
But as I said, being Pro-Choice also means being Pro-Consequences.
If you are not Pro-Consequences, then you are not Pro-Choice. If you try to say you are, you are only fooling yourself.
So the Pro-Life/Anti-Abortion/Pro-Choice side say a woman has the right to privacy. She can, and should, keep her body private and secure. We say that a woman has a right to choose when, and how, she engages in her "breeding habits" (to keep my analogy going). We honor those rights, and seek legal assistance for her in keeping those rights held supreme.
However, once she has voluntarily surrendered her rights to personal bodily privacy and her rights to secure her "breeding habits," and has, as a result, generated another human life form, then she must also deal with the Pro-Consequences side.
Consequences (the "reaction" side of the "action" side) are an immutable law of nature. You cannot overcome it without generating some other consequences -- nature will not allow it. In "politico-speak" they sometimes refer to these "other consequences" as "unintended," but they are always there. No written argument and no act of congress has the power to tell Nature to deny her consequences for actions made.
Attempting to "relieve her" of the consequences by sucking the "little parasite" out of the womb through a tube will not work. Nature will not stand idly by and have the consequences taken away. Each consequence is more painful than the previous one.
So by declaring yourself Pro-Choice, then you must also declare yourself to be Pro-Consequences -- and both mean you are decidedly anti-abortion. Because abortion takes away the right of choice from an innocent human life form (even if our "modern science" has other terms for it) and because the consequences of the previous actions have been delayed -- both of which cause worse consequences in the long run.

Interesting how the Republican Party used to represent something important in American life, and now it just a bunch of rude crude white guys, who probably did too much cocaine in the 80s, and have destroyed their personal humanity and brain cells, and everyone around them. Come on Voters, dump the whole new GOP, its not world a shot glass of spit.
