David Simpson is a crack pot that did not pass one piece of legislature during his freshman session, he almost shut down flights to Texas. He was the only person in all of the Texas Legislature to vote against a veterans bill, and the man is for the legalization of MARIJUANA. He may be a hero in your mind, but he is a mess up and a miss fitted left winger in my mind!

@Dustin I agree. Simpson is a hippie. He was raised in highland park, and moved to east texas to play politics. The mayor of Longview himself turns a shoulder to Simpson. He is an ebarassment in my district and needs to be voted out! I didnt even know about the veterans thing? Who would vote against a veteran? This guy just lost my vote!

I heard he voted against a puppy bill also! I looked up his voting record and he was one of the few members to vote for the texting and driving bill. Essentially simpson believes in txting and driving. Luckily it was passed despite simpsons efforts to stop it.

David Simpsonis a libertarian and an extremist. He is a Republican in Name Only -of a different kind. The kind that donates money to fringe third party presidential candidate Howard Phillips in 1996 - as opposed to Republican Bob Dole.
People like him are responsible for the re-election of Bill Clinton back in '96 and we'll be saddled with Obama for another four years if purist extremists like David Simpson control GOP politics.
We should call an Exorcist and expunge this demon out of the Republican Party!

I agree with Rep. David Simpson, Mr Perry should just finsih this term and fade in wild blue yonder. He has done enough damage to this beloved state of Texas. He gives me the impression that he thinks Texas is a country of its own. He thinks that he can buy the rest of the country with favors and whatever. Enough is enough.
