Consumer Group: Supreme Court Favors Businesses
In the last 10 years, the majority of Texas Supreme Court decisions have favored corporate interests over consumers, and the panel of judges has repeatedly overstepped its authority by overturning jury verdicts and interpreting the law to benefit the rich, according to a scathing report set to be released today by consumer advocacy group Texas Watch.
“The Texas Supreme Court has marched in lock-step to consistently and overwhelmingly reward corporate defendants and the government at the expense of Texas families,” the report says.
Texas Watch says in its study, which reviewed court decisions in more than 624 cases in the ...

For years we are fighting corruption in our government, it is not news that our government is corrupt, from the halls of Washington to the States Capitals. Bribe money control political power, political power defend and protect bribe money. This country is run and controlled by the ruling class "Money" and the Mainstream News Media that is own by the multinational corporation, that this supreme court declared corporations as a person.
The mainstream News Media jobs is to brainwash the American people in the ideology that this government is working in the best interest of the American people, while this government is engage in making the American working class an economic slave class. This government become a government by the corporations for the corporations; and they are destroying our country with their ill agenda that is to control the world economic. Americans need to educate themselves on the work of the IMS, The world Bamk, The Federal Reserve Bank, The WTO, NAFTA and Globalization.

Justice Brister - certainly it is all about the statistics. We have 10 years of cases and that is certainly statistically significant that this court is overwhelming pro insurance and amazingly anti family. You claim you only look at cases where something has gone wrong, but the problem is, your definition of gone wrong is whenever a little guy or underdog achieves fair compensation against an insurance company, that is a system "gone wrong. " That is when this Court steps in, over reaches beyond its constitutionally granted authority and does a factual review (only review of the law is allowed) and takes away the verdict. That is a statistical fact.

It sounds like sour grapes on the part of Texas Watch, a "consumer group" heavily financed by plaintiff lawyers. As a society we need to encourage people to be producers, not just consumers. Everyone is a consumer, but sadly some merely consume things and somehow think that makes them special.
I much prefer the Texas Supreme Court to a bunch of activists in robes, legislating from the bench. The last thing we need is encouragement of more lawsuits.

So over 70% of civil jury verdicts (i.e., verdicts where plaintiffs were awarded money) are overturned. It would be interesting to compare that with the percentage of criminal jury verdicts that are overturned. Certainly, different courts are involved: civil appeals are handled by the Texas Supreme while criminal appeals are handled by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. But it is telling to recognize that verdicts against alleged criminals are presumed to be valid, while verdicts against corporations and insurance companies are presumed to be in error.
Perhaps they should apply the Harmless Error Rule of criminal law to civil cases.

LATINOS FOR HONEST GOVERNMENT
Help us to spread the truth, pass this on and help us to take our country back.

Fellow Americans, we can make the difference. We live in a country rule by corrupt politicians and this Mainstream News Media, that sold their soul to the multinational corporations The financial Bankers and special interest; their greed and lack of responsibility is destroying our country, America is being brainwash and misinformed by the mainstream News media. Today they are working to place in the White House and our congress their puppets, so they can continue running our country.
My fellow Americans, you and I have responsibilities to rally for honesty in our system of Government and vote out of office all the corrupt politicians that contributed to this financial catastrophe and the impoverishment of millions of Americans. The mainstream media, for years hide the truth from the American people; they fail us and report half truths to protect this corrupt government, The Bankers and the multinational corporations.(Wall Street)
Here are the issues that we must fight for:
1- Stop any military intervention and bring our troops home. We can not continue letting this corrupt government use our Military to steal other countries natural resources and exploit their human resources in the name of national security and best interest of this United States.
2- Review all free trade policies, because they are in the best interest of the multinational corporations to make them rich at the expenses of the American people and foreign countries. We have in this United States, 40 years of trade deficits that destroy our manufacturing infrastructure and eliminated millions of Americans and foreign jobs. Multinational corporations destroy true capitalism and replace it with predator corporatism, creating resentment and hate in the world community toward us. We must never forget 9-11 and ask ourselves why.
3- Illegal immigration is a great burden to the American taxpayers. Americans should not blame the people that enter our country illegally, we should blame the corrupt politicians and the Mainstream News Media; for years this United States used the CIA and the special forces to overthrow legitimate elected governments in Latin America to take over their natural resources and exploit their human capital by getting these countries to support free trade agreements that benefit the US multinational corporation and the corrupt government of the host country, these people work hard and many hours for almost nothing to enrich the US economic predators. NAFTA destroy the agriculture in Mexico, creating a huge unemployment that is why they invade the USA and this corrupt government do nothing because that benefit the business sector with a cheap labor. So the question is who benefit from this illegal immigration and who pay for and suffer the consequences of this self created immigration crisis.
4- Most important start paying our national debt- we must cut expending, every Dollar save count; not more bailouts and free lunch, Americans do not want handouts they want to work and earn wages that will support their families, not slaves wages.
Fellow Americans do not let the big money, the ruling class; to continue destroying our country. The establishment do not want Ron Paul in the White House, but he is our only hope to take our country back, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum represent the GOP establishment. Ron Paul do not; he always stood firm and loyal to America and the people that send him to Washington, his character, honesty, integrity and principles never have being in question. Fellow Americans we can restore honesty and leadership in the White House and our congress, you decide our freedom or our economic slavery, please do not let the ruling class money buy the White House. Do not believe the Mainstream Media they are corrupt and control by the ruling class.
please join me in this war against the ruling class, Government corruption and mismanagement of our taxpayers money.
Pass this on and ask your contacts to send it to 10 or more friends. The power of ten will spread the word to millions and prompt them to take action, to help us to take our country back from the corrupt politicians and the special interest that control our Government. We are united to restore our constitution, our sovereignty, the rule of law and Honesty and integrity in our Government.
Fellow Americans, I do not advocate any violent action against this corrupt news media, the GOP and the big multinational corporations. I do advocate using the Internet and take the time, to inform America of this News bias that is in control of our country; promoting a pro-war and pro-big corporations agenda in support of the ruling class. Our non-violent actions is to take our country back and bring back responsibility to the corporate media and our government.
Millions of Americans are well inform and share our views, we want real changes, an American by the people and for the people; not an American by the corporations for the corporations. The truth must be told and the voice of the American people must be hear. Americans all over this great country must educate themselves, seek the truth and inform the people, we can not depend of this corrupt news media, we should never again allow them to brainwash us, lie and deceive us.
Vote for Ron Paul in every election, we must force the GOP and the news media to support the will of the people.

Regardless of how the Texas Supreme Court decides, because they are all Republicans, and have b een appointed by their buddy Mr Rick Perry, they project bias decisions. They have to make decisions that the governor is going to pleased with, after all, that is why he appointed them there. It is the Texas corporate entities that have contributed plenty of cash to make sure the governor wins the election. In return, Mr Perry rewards them by insuring that if and when they are sued, they have the Texas Supreme Court to reverse those decisions made at the lower courts. Why not appoint both Republican and Democrat justices so that the final outcome of the cases being heard, can be heard without biases.
