Cornyn Presses Holder on Alleged Texas Operation
Update, Nov. 8: U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, worried that Operation Fast and Furious could have affected Texas, pressed U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday about the scope of the program.
The exchange came at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where Holder faced questions from lawmakers about when he became aware of Fast and Furious, and who in the Justice Department was accountable for the operation’s problems.
In opening remarks, Holder denounced the tactic of gun-walking as “unacceptable” and said Fast and Furious “should never have happened, and it must never happen again.”
He pushed back, however ...

Why doesn't Cornyn confront the GOP to pass a jobs bill that really creates jobs? Why doesn't Cornyn confront Corporate welfare, tax loopholes/expenditures that benefit Corporations and the wealthy? Why does't Cornyn confront the need to reverse the SCOTUS Citizen's United ruling? Why doesn't Cornyn confront the need to ban lobbyists in Congress?

I have no quarrel with an investigation of this moronic gun-walking program at the ATFE known as "Operation Fast and Furious". I do have a quarrel with the exclusion from the investigation the circa 2006 George W. Bush-era moronic gun-walking program at the ATFE known as "Operation Wide Receiver".
Hypocrisy reigns.

What is Cornyn going to do? The same thing he always does, lie, lie, and lie some more. And when he gets finished with that, he will blame the Administration. Oh, and play politics when he should be trying to represent the citizen's of TX and Not his corporate donors.

I have no respect for John Cornyn who censors his Facebook page of those who do not agree with him. So typical of the GOP.

Great, then Holder can ask Cornyn, and Perry, why they let the gunshows and gun dealers sell thousands of automatic/assault weapons to gangs, and did NOTHING ! And Holder can also ask him how he feels about the 40.000 people slaughtered with these gun sales. Wonder if the Texas Tribune will ask Perry and Coryn the same questions. I would love to hear their answers, and comments.

..when will cornyn apologize to the thousands of servicemen and tens of thousands of iraqis who have died as a result of his vote on george bush's wmd snipe hunt?

Since Cornyn is showboating going after Atty Generals, why wasn't Cornyn all over Atty General Alberto Gonzalez for putting 2 Texas border agents in prison for shooting an illegal alien in the buttocks during those glorious George WMD Bush days? Why didn't Cornyn FIGHT to keep those 2 guards out of "general population", knowing that their lives were in jeopardy everyday in prison? Did Coryny apologize to the families of the Texas border agents for not standing up and representing their rights?
Since Cornyn is also showboating on a memo-directed-to-office-holder as PROOF that Holder knew about Fast and Furious BEFORE he said he did, why didn't Cornyn investigate and hold George WMD Bush, Dick Cheney, Condileeza Rice accountable for the Presidential Daily Memo titled "Osama Bin Laden Determined to Strike Within the U.S." dated August 6, 2001?
Hypocrite - the definition in Webster's is now replaced with John Cornyn's picture.

As usual, Cornyn used his bully bull pit to attack the justice department for a very bad program. A
program, that began under Bush and Gonzales. Our illustrious Senator used his time not to represent the voters of the state. He used it to attack Holder in a rude and highly partisan exchange.
