Harry Truman said : The Buck Stops Here." Perry on the other hand would have us believe the buck stops over there, somewhere? IS this a man that meets Presidential muster? Perry failed the Citizens of Texas miserably. The consequence is we have to wait TWO YEARS to correct this insult to the people of Texas. Now our only hope does lie with Washington , and that is a grim thought. Two more years of Illegal Aliens running free and happy through our State doing what they will.
A. Bryant
The Illegals are not just running free and happy; Perry gives them free education, free housing, free prolific breeding deliveries, welfare checks, WIC, free food (SNAP), they do not have to carry drivers insurance or medical insurance, trash up our neighborhoods, rape, murder, brake into our homes, rob, and the teachers must teach them in their homeland language. Perry wants them here for the votes and his cronies give them jobs which are paid under the table for half of what they would have to pay our citizens and in return, his cronies contribute to his campaign. Texas is sick of the lies and if he should happen to be voted in; American is in big trouble...Perry cannot run Texas, much less America. Mexico will take over with never firing a shot.

The pessimistic side of me wonders if this is all just a ploy by the Texas Tea Party (financed by some Perry PAC) to try to convince moderate republicans that he's not as much of a right-wing nutjob we all know that he is. Perry isn't above doing anything to win an election.

But he was told to run for president by a burning bush.

TEXAS DREAM ALLIANCE DENOUNCES ATTEMPTS TO MISLEAD PUBLIC ON IN-STATE TUITION FOR POLITICAL GAINS
The facts on in-state tuition for immigrant students
October 12, 2011--Following republican presidential debates and amid growing controversy regarding SB 1528, a Texas law that grants in-state tuition for immigrant students, the Texas Dream Alliance is on a mission to set the record straight about this issue. "There are a lot of myths about in-state tuition that can be easily debunked with facts and we are ready to speak up," said Jesus Perales, a political science student at Lamar University. In order to qualify for in-state tuition under SB 1528, the student must have lived in Texas for at least 3 years prior to high school graduation, graduated from a Texas high school, and pledged to obtain legal residency status once eligible if they have not done so already. Yet, many presidential hopefuls and their supporters continue to perpetuate misconceptions about SB 1528 while conveniently ignoring the economic and societal benefits of this law. Ainee Athar, a junior at the University of Texas at Austin explains, "undocumented students contribute over $9 million in out-of-pocket educational costs a year, a stream of funding that would abruptly turn into a trickle if we got rid of in-state tuition." Furthermore, SB 1528 and similar in-state tuition laws decrease high school dropout rates among non-citizen Latinos by 14%, saving each state billions of dollars and creating an educated workforce in the long term. When asked about the biggest misconception that students encounter, Jesus Perales said that "we often hear that undocumented students don't pay our fair share but the truth is that we pay sales, income and property taxes and we are paying into the system just like any other Texan." The political climate has changed since 2001, when in-state tuition for immigrant students passed virtually unopposed, but the reasons why this law is good public policy have not.

Not true, juts a myth! All this is a Republican agenda. and the evidence is more than ample, but the brainless believe everything they are told. They can't think for themselves. They should change their diet to change their brain chemistry.
The undocumented immigrant myth was created by a Republican politician in mid 90's, and those who take everything for granted believed it. Never took, and never take, the initiative to study, research and learn for themselves. The results? This what we have now. They fed hatred on to the "useful dumb."

Poor Ricky. Rational Texans (Yes, there are.) want to be rid of him because he is nuts. Witness him telling the nation the American Revolution was a 16th century affair. Irrational Texans (hint: lots of CAPS and brakes) don't think he's nutty enough. Witness Perry forgetting about the illusory sanctuary cities chimera that once was an emergency issue deep in the heart, but not such a big deal in Iowa.

The Tea Party is bad, ok?

Under the previous theory that the illegals now contribute 9 million $ every year in additional spending then if we were to increase their numbers 10 times over we would reap 90 million $per year. Perhaps a high speed rail system from the valley to transport them quicker and with more safety would be a good idea? This country is being overrun by illegals and Legal immigrants alike. All immigration should be cut back to right next to none at all. Do we really need 100,000 people coming here monthly legally? Our economy is barely creating 50,000 jobs per month as it is. Over the last decade there has been a 0 net gain of jobs. The American public has to wake up . All our futures are at stake. Educating people for non existent jobs whoever they are will do us no good. Americans should be first on the list. Go to NUMBERSUSA.org for the real story on immigration and the negative impacts. All but the most stubborn, ignorant or those wishing the destruction of OUR COUNTRY will hopefully take action to stop this madness.
New data from the Census Bureau show that the nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal), also referred to as the foreign-born, reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in American history. Nearly 14 million new immigrants (legal and illegal) settled in the country from 2000 to 2010, making it the highest decade of immigration in American history. This is the case even though there was a net decline of jobs during the decade. In contrast, from 1990 to 2000 job growth was 22 million and 13.2 million new immigrants arrived. Immigrants come for many reasons, such as a desire to join relatives or to access public services. As a result, immigration remains high even during a prolonged period of economic weakness

This is not 1900 or 1990 , this is 2011 and the truth is the world has changed and this trend cannot continue. All Americans should be concerned. Jobs will become even more scarce, environmental degradation will be accelerated, usage of natural resources , water a prime example, will see increased pressure. More power plants are needed, roads bridges and other infrastructure are at their limits now. Should we continue and reach 350 million people by 2025 and over 400 million by 2050. This is not a positive trend and will only get worse. If these open border groups and Immigration rights advocates become more influential and gain political power , the rates could even increase above the projected rates of current growth. Just imagine the growth if these groups had that type of influence and power today. If they had their way the rates would be doubled and Within 20 years we would be reduced to third world status with massive population growth , increased labor vs demand and the resulting lower wages that would bring. Those who call this veiw racist and xenophobic simply refuse to face the facts.Just because the largest group to emmigrate through both legal and illegal means happens to be Hispanic does not mean this effort is directed at them specifically. They are the ones that have the easiest access and are in closest proximity. Other countries must take responsibility for their own Citizens and we must do the same. NumbersUSA . org will open your eyes.

A painted Rock they didnt even Paint ! They were renting and not the Rock ! They had no Legal right to change. They changed it for purpose of media ! Which took time . They had to contact the owner. Who needed to give them permition.

IT was most likely a Tea Party Hater who Painted it there in the first place ! Not to say that the others were better or worse . Just an example of things that happen to make things difficult in Elections .

By the way GOOD JOB Tribune in Supporting your local Texas Governor in The Race For President !!! :( So Much for Patriotism !!
Kathi Thomas via Texas Tribune on Facebook
I'm fed up with him, too, but not for not take action against something that only exists in the space in the heads of tea party folks. As far as "Patriotism"- true patriotiism isn't blindly supporting someone just because he or she is from your state- it is finding the best candidate, whoever and from where ever he or she comes. I will add that a newspaper SHOULDN'T be supporting any candidate's run- the job of journalists is to report the news, not sway it, something Fox "News" doesn't "get."

Perry has failed Texas citizens not illegal aliens. Perry had a chance to make it right but he and his buddies went another path. I say hell NO for president. BUT if it was between Obama mama and Perry. I would vote Perry.
gypsy314 ne
What part of illegal does anyone not understand. Bottom line illegal alien children or not should leave and come here legally like all the rest do. No more dream acts or amnesty. Illegal aliens go home NOW

Do not forget your children.

I think it's funny how they 1. think "sanctuary cities" exist and 2. think that Perry ever really considered these people's rich fantasy lives a legislative emergency. Come back to Earth, tea party. Or don't, that's OK too.
Dot Pate
Its so easy to understand what "illegal"means. What is Perry's problem?
My message to illegals is "GO HOME."
If you don't like it there, then have your own American Revolution. We don't need your problems brought here!
You have done us one favor though; you have exposed career politicians who have no allegiance to their own country or to us and we are going to take care of that in November 2012 if not sooner with indictments. They have stomped on, ignored and torn our Texas and United States Constitution to pieces. I think that is called TREASON.
Get active folks. We don't have to put up with it either!

What a bunch of idiots. This woman is obviously aware that two bills were written, she knows who Dewhurst and Strauss are, she knows that the Senate and House were unable to pass legislation agreeable to both, & I bet she even knows that all of that good legislation WAS passed Voter ID, common sense medical prolife medical procedures, eminent domain protections were strengthened.
Pretty weak. Looks like a petty attack to me.
