Perry Struggles for Spotlight in New Hampshire Debate
Rick Perry didn’t blow it or commit any serious gaffes, but in his latest televised debate, the Texas governor found himself in a position that seemed unimaginable even a few weeks ago: largely out of the spotlight and struggling for airtime.
In his first debate Perry complained that he was beat up so much he felt like a “piñata.” But on Tuesday night at the Bloomberg/Washington Post debate in New Hampshire, Perry did not get near as much attention from the panelists or his opponents. Nor did he display the swagger and defiance that have come to ...

Kinda like his governorship

Wish he had been more of a non-presence this past summer in the education budget decisions.

Goes so well with his non-factor status as an imbecile of humanity

Wow, I bet he's really regretting his decision to not debate Mr. White in the governor's race last year. #nonfactor

With what Perry lacks in stage presence he makes up in actual decision making. Over half of the new jobs in the United States in 2010 were in Texas, mainly because of the freedom bill for alternative energy. We can all agree the cuts in education were brutal but Texas has a balanced budget, it wasn't the only pillar that was hit financially.

Perry got owned by Mitt Romney. That's quite an achievement.

Yo Lance: Where do I start? The Perry Hot Air Balloon is so darn big, just like Texas itself, that I can throw a dart blindfolded and it will pop:
1. "$27 Billion Texas State Budget Deficit" becomes, in Perry's campaign, "Aw Shucks! I call us, and myself especially, the Texas Miracle." Obviously he didn't think that people in the other 49 can Google facts about Texas.
2. Perry whines about seceding, and "we don't need the federales," but at the same time he is busy silently accepting billions of dollars every year from the same federales in form of federal aid for education, disaster relief....how does that look?
3. Texas jobs you talk about: most of those are the low-rent, minimum-wages, no-benefits variety. In other words, Perry has set up a sweat shop for Texas to steal companies from other states.
IF Perry becomes the president, what is he going to set up: 50 states in a Race to the Bottom to see which state can out sweat-shop other states? The country can't steal jobs from itself. Perry would have to deal with the whole country as the president. What will he do? He hasn't proven anything. He hasn't created that many miraculous jobs; most of his "job creations" are basically from low-balling other states.
4. Texas benefits from its geography. What's Perry gonna do as the Prez: mandate that every other state drill for oil and don't stop until oil is found?

Let's face what we knew several weeks ago. Perry did blow it. Can he have some whine with that cheese. Pinata! Seriously? Very unpresidential.

Love these comments. Think you are all kinda anti-perry. That is OK, but when it comes time to vote for who will be put up against Obama that you have figured out who not only can win but what will happen if you vote for someone who can't.
Personally I think that if Obama gets reelected (or even some other democrat) America might never recover. As it is it will take a decade or more, even if every politician and all the public can agree and work together.
As most of you have figured out by now, the United States of America has been under attack and changed by the liberal, progressive element of our society for at least 55 years. How do you like the results?
If you like it - then you must be part of the progressive movement to take from others and give to you.
If you don't like it...then you had better get your head out of your a$$ and vote for a return to what our Founders designed and wanted.
If things go south...well, I suggest you be prepared for what will follow.

Lance,if you factor in population growth and loss Texas rates at the bottom of job creation. The huge population growth more than offset the number of mostly minimum-wage jobs created. Texas's constitution requires the Legislature to pass a balanced budget so Perry gets no credit for that. He also continues taking $10,000 a month to rent a huge house while cutting help for the disabled, mentally ill and children.

Maybe it's time for Gov. Perry to seriously consider the merits of seceding from the presidential race.
