Perry Supported Tax Hikes Before He Opposed Them
To hear him tell it on the presidential campaign trail, Gov. Rick Perry has never met a tax increase he liked.
But at home, over a political career that reaches back to the oil price shocks of the 1980s, Perry has embraced billions of dollars worth of them — including a $528 million tax hike approved in 1990, after he defected to the Republican Party.
The biggest tax increases came early in his career, before anyone used the phrase “Tea Party” to describe a potent political movement. But a few weeks ago, Perry also signed into law an online sales tax ...

Perry is not a fiscal conservative. Perry will raise taxes and fees... to support the spending that government spends on... even the wasteful pork barrel projects and billions in giveaways to other countries and even to the IMF.
Perry is a smart politician that can sell you on what he is promoting... but isn't that what all politicians do... make promises... whether they keep them or even mean them is a different story. But then you have to slap yourself and say Perry is just another politician who... through his past actions... has shown himself as a RINO... as he has supported more taxes in years past and even recent tax hikes as well. Actions speak louder than words cause words are cheap.
Perry's past actions, voted for the massive tax increase back in the early 90s; mandated the questionable Gardasil vaccine to all sixth grade girls through the issuance of Perry's executive order; signed the Dream Act into law allowing illegals to pay in-state tuition; Perry criticized Arizona's tough legislation on illegals; Perry stomped on the Due Process Clause of the 14th Am,endment by signing into law SB313 on June 17, 2011 that essentially strips voters in some Tx counties of their right to vote against being forcibly placed into a neighboring watrer district... and the people were denied any form of due process ( The Constitution means nothing to Perry); Perry has control over the Emerging Tech. Fund and has awarded at least 8 of his larger campaign donors with millions of dollars in grants (taxpayer moneys);under Perry, the cost of running Stsate government has doubled. Perry has criticized the fed for government overreach... but Perry is Mr. Overreach himself.
There are better candidates out there.... the Republican Party though is not offering those up yet... At least not until we demand more fiscally and socially conservative Republican candidates.

Now it is not good to disparage the good king. There must be some woodshed you all can go behind so duty can be discharged...

I know, I know -- everyone hates Perry. Everyone hates conservatives. Wow - TT is getting very tiresome with the anti-Perry diatribe/rhetoric. The articles and posts are becoming recyclable as the content and vitriolic comments are so similar as to be unrecognizable from the previous iteration. Maybe we could see some articles on someone else - anyone else.

Sheez! What an arrogant bully! Across the country, notwithstanding the idgit teabaggers, Americans will soon get tired of the guv's sneering, leering sarcasm, and begin to realize he's all smack and no substance. Texans have long since tired of his arrogance and his condescending insults of anyone who disagrees with him or questions his flip flops and his wing nut, fringe outbursts that compete with the best carnival barkers. Of course, all the big business big moneybags latch onto him like moths to the flame. He is a good example of someone who has been in politics too long. Strip away all his handlers, sycophants, and lackeys, and all the big monied lobbyists who follow him around like little puppy dogs, and Woila! You have an emperor with no clothes. He would be better off going ahead and taking that job with a big lobbying firm that is paid big bucks by big business to pressure the Texas lege to vote their way. The job he is truly destined for. He has absolutely none of the character required of the respectful, impressive office of president of the U.S.
