Mr. Smitherman is a property owners worst nightmare. He is for the Oil company and only the oil company. 20% of our small acerage is being taken by Texas Express Pipeline for a NG pipeline. Can you imagine our shock to learn that they only offored a miserly $6,272.40 for the acerage and damages to our land. Estimates total more than $86,000 for fence and driveway repair. Is this what Mr Smitherman calls "open and transparent"? We have no choice in this nightmare. They are taking our land no matter what we say or do. My husband is 71 and I am 66. This 6 acers is all we have and we are too old to start all over again. We had to hire a high priced attorney to try and get enough to rebuild our fences and assure that we would even be able to get from the road to our home.
Thank you Mr Smitherman for destroying us!
