SBOE Meeting Is Controversial Member's Last Stand
The mustached dentist from Bryan captured worldwide attention as an unapologetic creationist and skeptic of the church-state wall during his tenure on the State Board of Education. And though today marks the beginning of Don McLeroy’s final board meeting before his GOP primary opponent, Thomas Ratliff, replaces him, the 12-year board veteran says this is anything but the end of his involvement.

The fact that he uses the word "golly" (much like Gomer Pyle) showcases the depth of intellectual rigor. What an embarrassment to the state of Texas. Scientifically illiterate, willfully ignorant, and historically uninformed, he's rural Texas in a nutshell.

shirley your kids can learn what don and those other crazies want your child to learn in a CHURCH not from our joke of an education system. future teacher but thanks to this sboe and perry i will NOT be starting my teaching career in texas. he was fighting for his own narrow minded ideals not our children, the whole nation can see that.
