The Back to Basics PAC, which has repeatedly attacked GOP Gov. Rick Perry during the general election cycle in ads on TV and in print, has turned its sights on the incumbent's unwillingness to debate his Democratic opponent, Bill White. The group's new full-page ad, "Face Us," ran in 41 newspapers this morning — including the Houston Chronicle, which declined to run the now-infamous "Coward" ad that appeared in 24 newspapers in August. Cliff Walker, the executive director of Back to Basics, says the total spend on the ad was "less than $200,000."
